Leather or Powerhide, and how to choose?
Leather Thai pads last longer under a full class and break in to the holder's forearm over a season. Powerhide costs less, wipes down faster and suits a club buying several pairs at once. Both carry the same core density, so the choice comes down to budget and how many rounds a week they take.
TITLE supplies Muay Thai equipment to South African gyms alongside the boxing range, including kick shields and the longer heavy bags that low-kick work needs.
Muay Thai or boxing?
Muay Thai uses eight points of contact: fists, elbows, knees and shins. Boxing uses the hands. A Muay Thai gym needs pads that take a shin at full power across the forearm, which is why a Thai pad runs longer and denser than a boxing focus pad. Kick shields cover the body kicks and teeps a Thai pad cannot absorb.
