1. Who is responsible for your information
In Front Sports (Pty) Ltd is the “responsible party” (data controller) for the personal information processed through this website. Questions, requests or complaints about your personal information can be sent to our Information Officer at sales@boxing.co.za or by post to PO Box 1600, Saxonwold, 2132.
2. What personal information we collect
- Information you give us: name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number, and account login details.
- Order and payment information: items purchased, order history, and payment confirmation. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (Paystack); we do not store your full card details on our systems.
- Information collected automatically: your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
- Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to receive our newsletter or promotional messages.
3. Why we process your information, and our lawful basis
POPIA requires a lawful basis for processing. We rely on the following:
- To perform our contract with you — processing and delivering orders, handling returns and refunds, and managing your account.
- To comply with the law — tax, accounting and consumer-protection obligations.
- Our legitimate interests — securing the website, preventing fraud, and improving our products and service, balanced against your rights.
- Your consent — for direct marketing and for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Direct marketing
We will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in, or where the law otherwise allows it for existing customers. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time by emailing sales@boxing.co.za. This is consistent with POPIA (section 69) and the Consumer Protection Act.
5. Who we share your information with
We share personal information only with parties who help us run the business, and only to the extent they need it:
- Shopify Inc. — our e-commerce platform and website host.
- Paystack — our payment gateway, which processes card and EFT payments securely under PCI-DSS.
- The Courier Guy and other couriers — to deliver your order.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cross-border transfer of information
Some of our operators, including Shopify, store data on servers outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by a comparable level of data protection, as required by POPIA (section 72). By using the site and placing an order, you acknowledge this transfer.
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, in line with POPIA (section 19). Card data is encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and handled by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment provider. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the Information Regulator if a material breach occurs.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law (for example, tax and accounting records must be kept for five years). When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
9. Your rights Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and request access to it;
- ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive or out of date;
- object to the processing of your information in certain circumstances;
- withdraw consent you have given (for example, to marketing); and
- complain to the Information Regulator.
To exercise any of these rights, email sales@boxing.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
